Investment Process
The iStartupAngels Group is currently accepting pre-seed and seed stage companies submissions for funding.
Our goal is to enable promising companies to complete the steps necessary to achieve key performance milestones which will result in self-sustainability (cash flow positive) and/or significant traction (demonstrating proof of concept / significant market adoption).
Parameters
We will focus on commercialization phase of technology startups that have reasonable expectation of reaching an enterprise value of $20-50 million in three to five years, targeting a market segment with at least $500 million in total revenue potential.
Ideal opportunities have these characteristics:

- High potential technology company, preferably in, but not limited to: Cyber, Software, Digital Health, Medical Devices, or Advanced Materials
- Clearly identified & unique differentiating factor(s) that position the product/solution as a potential high margin market leader.
- Defensible intellectual property with clear ownership or licensing arrangement, or other high barriers to entry.
- Strong entrepreneurial team with specific industry expertise.
- Above $500 million addressable target market with high likelihood of $30 million revenue within 3 to 5 years.
- Clear path to an exit via sale to a targeted strategic bidder within 5 years

- be invited for an initial screening presentation;
- be offered to work with our mentors preparing you for the next step based on our "Startup Package"
- be turned down as unlikely to receive funding from our group
Screening Meeting
After reviewing your executive summary, our internal committee will determine if your business could be of interest to iStartup Angels. If you succeed, you will be invited to present to us. Be prepared to deliver a 30-minute investor presentation and answer questions for an additional fifteen minutes.
Presentation to members
Following the screening meeting, you will be invited to present to our key partners. You will have the opportunity to elaborate on your business plan. Prepare to deliver a 30-minute presentation and address questions for an additional 15 minutes.
Due diligence
During due diligence, we will verify the statements made in your business plan, presentation, and financial projections. We will thoroughly research your team’s background and track record. If you play an active role in facilitating this process, it will help to expedite a final investment decision.
Term Sheet Negotiation
After successful completion of the due diligence process, iStartup Angels Group will present a term sheet that defines the structure of the investment deal – including type of equity and board of directors representation, usually using industry standard terms and provisions.
Funding & Beyond
When all parties are satisfied with the terms and language contained in the term sheet, the deal can be executed. But remember, closing the deal is only the beginning of the funding process. Now you have access to a network of value-added contacts and experienced professionals who can provide essential guidance for the growth and success of your venture. Adhering to the responsibilities at this stage will enable you to get the most from our relationship.
